Thieves target New Swaraj Nagar, make off with cash

Thieves striked at New Swaraj Nagar here on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

As per the information received in this regard, Bhupinder Singh Saini had closed his shop, Saini Departmental Store at about 11pm on Saturday. But he was informed by someone in the morning that the shutter of his shop was half open.

He rushed to the spot and found that a theft had been committed in his shop and thieves made off with Rs 10,000 in cash and some other valuable goods.

The Sunny Enclave police post has started the investigation. Meanwhile, Kanwaljit Singh, a resident of the area, said this was the sixth incident of theft in the area. He has demanded proper police patrolling in the area.
