Muktsar, June 16

Even though idol worship is prohibited in Sikhism, an idol of Guru Gobind Singh is installed at a  gurdwara at Gurusar  village in the Gidderbaha  subdivision here.

Notably, the gurdwara is not under the control of the SGPC and the idol was installed about five years ago when someone donated it to the gurdwara management. However, it came to notice only when the new management under Baba Balbir Singh 96 crori of Baba Budha Dal took control over the gurdwara.

Meanwhile, parallel jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal has appealed to the new gurdwara management to remove the idol, saying Sikh activists would intervene in the matter if it was not done.
