Patiala, June 16

With the onset of paddy season, the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has established 24-hour nodal complaint centres at its divisional offices throughout the state.

Officials said the step had been taken to accommodate increasing number of complaints in the paddy season. They said with this, the PSPCL has doubled its capacity to register complaints.

The PSPCL is catering to over 92 lack consumers of various categories in the state. The corporation already has a complaints registration facility available through 1912 phone number and SMS facility. Officials said it had been observed that in inevitable situations, including dust and windstorm, the number of calls to register complaints shoot up causing congestion due to rush on phone number 1912. “It becomes difficult for consumers to register their complaints in such conditions, so with the establishment of the complaint centres, we have increased the number of centres to register complaints,” they said.

The PSPCL has issued instructions to field officers to make all efforts to educate consumers about phone numbers of the nodal complaint centres. The number of complaint centres will be affixed in the electricity bills of consumers and will also be displayed and put up on notice boards, cash counters and complaint centres of the corporation.
