Three persons were killed and 20 injured in different mishaps here on Sunday.

Parvati Devi Shakya (61) died as a sound system box fell on her at the condolence meeting of her daughter-in-law at Dayanand Sewa Sadan on the Kandhwala road in Nai Abadi here on Sunday. Her relative Madhu, who was also hurt, has been hospitalised.

In another incident, cleaner Sumer Singh (30) of Dharmok village was killed as driver Hanuman Dass reportedly lost control over the truck they were travelling in and it hit a roadside tree at 4 am on the highway near Prem Nagar in Sriganganagar.

Rajinder Nayak (29) of Ganguwala village was reportedly run over by a train outside the truck union office complex in Raisinghnagar this morning.

As many as 20 persons were injured when a truck reportedly hit Lok Parivahan Sewa bus that halted at the Chak 22LGW bus stand on the Sriganganagar-Suratgarh road and both vehicles overturned at 1.30 pm on Sunday. — OC
