Separatists welcome pilgrims

SRINAGAR: A key separatist front, Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), on Sunday assured Amarnath pilgrims that Kashmir valley was “very much safe” for them. It also said that people of the region would always play a “friendly host”.

A key separatist front, Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), on Sunday assured Amarnath pilgrims that Kashmir valley was “very much safe” for them. It also said that people of the region would always play a “friendly host”.

“The warm hospitality of the people of Kashmir is a globally acknowledged fact … Kashmiri people will continue to retain and nourish this tradition as also the tradition of brotherhood communal amity,” JRL said in a statement.

The JRL is represented by three influential separatist leaders – Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik. They urged the tourists as well as Amarnath pilgrims to enjoy their “Kashmir sojourn without any fear and intimidation”. —TNS
