Malout, June 15

Family members and relatives of senior citizen Kashmir Singh, who had gone missing under mysterious circumstances five days ago, blocked Malout-Dabwali national highway near Lambi police station today.

On Friday night, Kashmir’s mutilated body was found in a drain near Mahnikhera village. The victim belonged to Arniwala Wazira village and was residing at Lambi.

The protesters alleged that the police did not register the case when Kashmir went missing.

Sarwan Singh, son of the deceased and Indian Army jawan, said the police were acting slowly.

Malout Superintendent of Police Iqbal Singh said, “A murder case had been registered against unidentified people on the statement of Jasbir Singh, a close relative of the deceased. The body has been sent for post-mortem.”
