A local doctor running a private clinic in Gurbaksh Colony was thrashed by a family for allegedly giving expired medicines to a child this week. The doctor, identified as Kapil, was beaten at his clinic, video of which has gone viral.

According to the SHO, Lahori gate, the doctor and the family members had resolved the matter through a mutual compromise.

According to information, the family members, who came to the doctor for medicine, asked if the child will be better after taking the medicine given by him before they attacked him.

The family members also alleged that they had once administered the expired medicine to the child already, which could have worsened his health.

Police officials said they had received complaints from the doctor and the family members on June 9 but they resolved the matter through a mutual compromise.

SHO Sandeep Kaur said no case was registered as the matter was dropped after a compromise between the two parties.
