Kashmir Migrant Relief Holders and Over-aged Youth Forum on Wednesday asked the government to refrain from any “half-baked and ill-conceived” measures with regards to return and rehabilitation of the displaced Pandits in Kashmir valley.

The forum also made it clear that no return and rehabilitation of the displaced community was possible unless a broad consensus was arrived at within the Pandit community.

This was stated by the office-bearers of the Forum during a meeting held in Muthi of Jammu district, where the participants discussed burning issues confronting the displaced community, especially the relief holders and over-aged youths.

The forum alleged that the displaced Pandits were sufferers of “forced exile”, but the government had neglected them and had conceived no schemes for their economic uplift, education and health and social welfare. Even the Ayushman Bharat Scheme was not available to them.
