An international flight of SpiceJet was on Wednesday landed with a deflated tyre that later burst at Jaipur airport at 9 am. The panic-stricken 189 passengers deplaned safely.

The Boeing 737-800 plane SG 058 was on way from Dubai to Jaipur when its pilots were informed by Jaipur ATC of suspected tyre burst at Dubai, its spokesman said.

One of its tyres was deflated after it took off from the Dubai airport, and the tyre did not burst, the spokesman claimed.

However, Jaipur’s AAI which extended the emergency landing facilities to the plane found pieces of tyres on the run way, director J S Balhara told The Tribune.

The plane crew probably did not notice or informed about the deflated tyre in Dubai, he said, adding the plane is still on the run way for repair.
