City faces water crisis

CHANDIGARH: Congress councillor Satish Kainth has alleged that the Municipal Corporation is not serious regarding the water crises in the city.

Several sectors in the city faced water shortage  after a  snag developed  in the  Kajauli  water works  today  evening. Residents of Chandigarh’s southern sectors  were  the worst sufferers. 

Mayor  Rajesh  Kalia  said water tankers would be arranged for the city residents whenever required . 

He said he was monitoring the  maintenance of the Kajauli water works and  directed the officials to  repair the  snag  as  soon as  possible.

There was no water supply in the evening in Sectors 30 ,  29, 27  18, 47, 48, 50 and 61.

Water pressure was so low that people living on first floor and above had to come down and fill the water, a resident said.
