Another fire, cycle seat-manufacturing factory ravaged

A fire broke out at a cycle seat-manufacturing factory, Sethi and Sons, near Dhuri Lines, her today. 

Sources said the fire broke out at the first floor while the work was going on in full swing. The workers in the factory had to run outside to save their lives. 

The sources also said there were no fire-safety arrangements at the factory due to which it could not be controlled in the first stage. According to the available information, the blaze started at around 6 pm. Since there were no fire-safety arrangements at the factory, the staff faced a tough time controlling the flames. They later informed the fire brigade and within a few minutes, the fire engines reached the spot. The firefighters quickly started dousing the flames.  

The fire fighters said they faced a huge difficulty because the fire broke out on the first floor of the building. It even spread on to the main entrance door due to which the firemen could not sprinkle water inside the factory.  

The officials also said it took them more than two hours to control the fire. Three fire engines were pressed into service. Short-circuit was said to be the cause of the fire.
