State Congress president GA Mir has hailed the rank and file of the party for working tirelessly in the elections. He said the party accepted the people’s verdict, while lauding the NC for winning all three Lok Sabha seats in Kashmir valley.

In his statement, Mir said Congress cadres across the state fought well and they deserved applause. He also thanked people, especially in south Kashmir, who exercised their franchise despite the unfavourable situation, for voting in favour of Congress candidates, adding that he accepted the people’s verdict with humility and respect.

“These elections were a fight between the secular and communal forces in the country in which Congress party fought with great vigour and vitality, it will continue its fight against communal and fascist forces and their agenda,” he said. The party would continue to serve the people and ensure equitable development of all three regions of the state, Mir added.
