Teacher, 7-year-old daughter go missing

CHANDIGARH: A teacher of a private school in Sector 45 here, along with her daughter, went missing after the former was snubbed by the school principal for taking a mobile phone in the class on Thursday.

A teacher of a private school in Sector 45 here, along with her daughter, went missing after the former was snubbed by the school principal for taking a mobile phone in the class on Thursday.

The victim left a note in the car that she is leaving along with her seven-year-old daughter. The car was recovered from near a temple in Sector 20 here today.

Sources said the teacher, identified as 34-year-old Sakshi Pandey, along with her daughter left home. Her car was found parked in Sector 20.

“A note reportedly written by the teacher was found in the car. It mentioned that she felt insulted after being snubbed by the school principal following which she has decided to leave along with her daughter,” the sources said.

Her husband Deepak Pandey got worried after she didn’t return home and informed the police. Initially, he went to the police post, Burail, from where he was asked to visit the Sector 19 police station.

The police said the victim left in a cab following which the cab driver will be contacted to establish where he dropped the woman and her daughter.

Meanwhile, a DDR has been lodged and an investigation has been initiated. — TNS
