If the data supplied by the office of the Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, is to be believed, the year 2018 witnessed maximum (447) cases of snatching.

However, since 2010, in total, the city reported 2,323 cases of snatching and on an average, 200 cases per year are being registered.

“If we further elaborate the data, maximum 149 cases in 2017 are still to be solved by the police, followed by 116 in 2018.

Apart from this, RTI activist Rohit Sabharwal also obtained information under the RTI Act regarding the robbery and dacoity cases since 2010.
