A truck driver lost control over the vehicle and rammed it into the Gill Road flyover parapet last night. The truck driver escaped with minor injuries. Had the truck fallen off the bridge, there could have been a major tragedy.
A team of the Division No. 6 police reached the spot. They closed the road alongside the flyover to traffic as the truck was precariously perched on the parapet. The road was opened to traffic after the truck was removed from the road with a crane.
The police said the incident occurred around 10 pm when the truck was heading towards Atam Park. Since the truck did not cause any loss of life, no case was registered against the driver.
