The police have registered a rape case on a complaint lodged by a married woman, 30, a resident of Faribadad. The crime reportedly took place on Saturday. 

The complainant, who approached the police on Sunday morning, alleged that the accused, identified as Karamvir, was known to her. She said he had called her up on Saturday morning and asked her to meet him at a petrol pump in Sector 17 on the pretext of meeting some influential person. 

The complainant, who has not revealed in the FIR the purpose of her meeting the accused, told the police that she was allegedly raped by the accused at a hotel in the Badkhal area around Saturday noon. The police has registered a case. — TNS
