A file of an education trust, which had applied for the change of land use (CLU) permission near Patti Kalyana village allegedly on the basis of fake documents around 14 years ago, is missing from the records of the district administration.

The matter came to light when an activist under the RTI Act sought information about action initiated against the trust on an inquiry conducted by the then Samalkha SDM in 2009.

Lt General KJ Singh, State Information Commissioner (SIC), has ordered the Panipat City Magistrate to hold an inquiry and ascertain the status of the missing file, diary register and the dispatch register. The matter has been fixed for the next hearing on July 22.

Mohan Singh, an RTI activist, had sought information from the City Magistrate on April 11, 2018, about action taken in the case.

He said the education trust had applied for CLU for construction of an engineering college near Patti Kalyana village in 2004. The director, Town and Country Planning, in November 2008, had cancelled the CLU as the trust had allegedly used some fake documents.

The director had also asked the then Panipat DC to conduct an inquiry into the matter and initiate action against the trust. Following his direction, the DC had marked an inquiry to the SDM, the activist said.
