Indira Gandhi University in the district’s Meerpur village has chargesheeted three professors and a clerk for allegedly making payment on the basis of bogus quotations and bills during a national seminar held in 2014.

The action came after a former guest faculty of the university, Gaurav Dalal from Rohtak, filed a bunch of complaints against the four at the CM’s Window.

The accused professors include Shri Krishan and Balkar Singh of the department of history, Satish Kumar of the department of economics and the clerk Anil Dahiya of the department of commerce and management of the university. Shri Krishan has retried while Balkar Singh is under suspension.

“The history department had organised a national seminar in the university in November 2014. Shri Krishan headed the organising committee while Balkar Singh, Satish Kumar and Anil were its members. It not only used fake quotations but also made payment on bogus bills,” Dalal alleged.

He alleged that quotations for food were invited for 100 ‘thalis’ while the bill was paid for 400 ‘thalis’. Similarly, all three quotations invited for tent and decoration during the seminar were unsigned. Bedsheets and blankets were taken on rent for two nights while arrangements for one-night stay for the participants were made, Dalal said.

Vice Chancellor SK Gakhar said chargesheet had been issued to the three professors and a clerk on the recommendation of the EC.
