First-time voters and persons with disabilities (PWDs ) were recognised for their efforts to cast vote in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and elect new the Central Government.

Gesture was shown in pursuance of orders of the Election Commission of India.

Uploading and circulation of early birds receiving commendation certificates from presiding officers and other dignitaries prompted other members of these categories to reschedule their programme and exercise their franchise.

Sushil Kumar, an activist said PWDs casting votes were felicitated. He said they were given commendation certificates by Returning Officer-cum- Raikot SDM Dr Himanshu Gupta. District SVEEP icon Shamli Sharma was also among the recipients. — OC
