Curfew was relaxed for the first time on Sunday in two phases of one hour each in communally sensitive Bhaderwah town. Internet services were restored in Doda, however, they continued to remain shut in Bhaderwah.
Doda Deputy Commissioner Sagar D Doifode said “Curfew was relaxed from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm in some areas of the town and 5 pm to 6 pm in other areas. We have also lifted Section 144 imposed in the town.”
Doda SSP Shabir Malik said “The situation is peaceful in Doda and we have restored internet services. They are likely to be restored in Bhaderwah in a day or so.”
Meanwhile, a time-bound magisterial probe has been ordered and a six -member special investigation team (SIT) of police has been constituted to probe the killing of Nayeem Shah.
