Unhappy with 82% marks, boy ends life

SONEPAT: Not satisfied with scoring 82 per cent marks in the Class XII examinations of the Board of School Education Haryana, Ravi, a resident of Matand village in the district, committed suicide by hanging himself in the storeroom of his house on Friday evening.

Not satisfied with scoring 82 per cent marks in the Class XII examinations of the Board of School Education Haryana, Ravi, a resident of Matand village in the district, committed suicide by hanging himself in the storeroom of his house on Friday evening.

Satish Kumar, in charge of Butana police post, said on a complaint by Brij Mohan, Ravi’s father, the police completed the investigation under Section 174 of the CrPC and handed over the body to the bereaved family on Saturday.

Brij Mohan said Ravi was expecting around 90 per cent marks so he was upset over the results, declared on May 15. He went missing on Friday evening and after around two hours, he was found hanging in the storeroom. — OC
