The BJP hit back promptly, accusing the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal of creating the ‘Emergency-like situation’ there by resorting to ‘repressive’ measures. Maharashtra NCP chief Jayant Patil accused the BJP of sponsoring the violence in West Bengal and said it “won’t be a surprise” if the saffron party declared Emergency formally. PTI

Computer Baba booked for model code violation

Bhopal: The Bhopal police on Thursday registered an FIR against self-styled godman Namdev Das Tyagi alias Computer Baba for allegedly violating the model code of conduct for holding a yoga camp. The FIR was registered at the directions of the district election officer. Computer Baba had organised a ‘hath yoga’ camp in Bhopal to campaign for Digvijaya Singh, Congress candidate from Bhopal, who had also participated in the event. Singh is contesting against Pragya Singh. PTI
