MC Zonal Commissioner transferred

Ludhiana, May 15

Ahead of the Lok Sabha poll, Secretary, Municipal Corporation, and Zonal Commissioner, Zone C, Jasdev Singh Sekhon, has been transferred to Hoshiarpur. The reason behind his transfer is not yet clear.

Principal Secretary of the Local Government, A Venu Prasad, issued Sekhon’s transfer order. Earlier, an RTI activist, Rashpal Singh Gabria, had complained to the Election Commission against Sekhon that he was a close friend of Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu. He demanded that the Election Commission must transfer Sekhon for free and fair elections.

Secretary Neeraj Jain took charge of the Zonal Commissioner here today. — TNS
