The SAD today got a major shot in the arm as late SAD leader Captain Kanwaljit Singh’s wife Sarbjit Kaur and daughter Manpreet Kaur Dolly rejoined the SAD in the presence of party president Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Welcoming them into the party fold, Sukhbir said Captain Kanwaljit was a pillar of strength for the party. “I welcome his family into the SAD as their return has strengthened the party in the Dera Bassi constituency.”

He claimed that SAD-BJP candidate for Patiala Surjit Singh Rakhra would get a big lead over his Congress rival after their rejoining. Manpreet Kaur Dolly said joining back the SAD felt like a homecoming. Calling Sukhbir as her big brother, she said they were seeing this development as a family reunion. “We will start campaigning for Rakhra and ensure his victory from this constituency with a huge margin,” she added.
