Patiala, May 14

A Bank of India’s (BOI) bank manager was allegedly shot at by the security guard in Samana today. The accused has been identified as Nirmal Singh.

The police said bank manager Yogesh Kumar and Nirmal had a quarrel over depositing the money in the bank account, following which the latter opened fire. The security guard was nabbed by other bank employees.

The injured bank manager was immediately rushed to the Government Hospital from where he was referred to Government Rajindra Hospital.

However, in the evening, Yogesh was referred to PGI, Chandigarh. The sources said Government Rajindra Hospital referred the case to PGI due to lack of vascular surgeon in the hospital.

Samana Deputy Superintendent of Police Jaswant Singh Mangat said, “The accused was arrested on the spot and a case will be registered against him soon. The manager is stable and is undergoing treatment.”
