PO in drugs case caught, sent to judicial custody

The police today arrested a proclaimed offender (PO) in a drugs case.

The accused, Mahmud, was produced in a local court, which sent him to judicial custody.

On March 17, 2011, a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was registered against Mahmud, who used to stay in Grain Market, Sector 26, at the Sector 17 police station.

He was arrested with 8-gram charas. After getting bail in the case, he did not appear in the court despite getting repeated summons.

He was declared a PO on December 17, 2015.

The accused was arrested from the grain market on a tip-off today.
