‘I try to improve every second’

What are the prominent shows that you have done? 

Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, Ek Baar Phir, Dil Boley Oberoi, Ishqbaaaz and a few more, with Sarvagun Sampanna at the moment. 

Why did you agree to do this show?

I always had this thing in my mind that I wanted to do something unlike my other roles. I wanted to do something challenging for sure. Ek Bhram — Sarvagun Sampanna has everything I was looking for.

What do you feel about the title of the show?  

I feel it’s so powerful, yet so true, as people know that nothing is perfect, flaws are always there. 

What is your character like?  

My character has got a lot of dimensions. Her life sketch is very complicated. She has been through a lot and that’s why she is like this. Not that you can say that it is justified for her to be grey, but she is doing all this for a reason. 

How much do you relate to your character?  

I am nothing close to my character, Jahnvi. She is very different, she has been brought up very differently, so she acts very differently than what Shrenu does. I think that’s the beauty of it. 

What kind of feedback are you receiving?  

The promos have been very well received. I have been getting a lot of calls and good feedback. 

How do you kill the monotony of a daily soap? 

Monotony seeps in not only in our profession, but everywhere. To kill monotony, I just try to detox myself and watch different things. 

Whom do you consider your idol? 

Well, there was a time when I used to really idolise Aishwarya Rai as a kid. I wanted to become like her, I wanted to be Miss World, but over time I realised that you don’t have to be a celebrity or a larger-than-life character to inspire other people. I get inspired every day from people, be it my cook or make-up person. I try to improve every second.
