Anuj bags twin titles, Sidhak also shines

Anuj Pal bagged twin titles on the concluding day of the Roots Open Tennis Championship here today. He won the boys’ U-12 and U-14 titles.

In the boys’ U-12 final, Pal defeated Divyam Sharma 6-3. In the semifinals, Pal outclassed Shorya without conceding a single game, while Divyam fought hard before registering a 6-5(5) win against Daksh Kapoor.

In the U-14 title clash, Pal overpowered Samarvir 6-3 to bag his second title without facing any difficulty.

Jaskirat Singh beat Guhaan Mehta 6-1 to win the boys’ U-10 title. He earlier defeated Param Sidana 5-2 to move into the final, while Mehta defeated Dhruv 5-1. In the girls’ U-10 final, Shrawasti outplayed Ekam Kaur 6-0. However, in the girls’ U-12 final, Shrawasti went down 6-3 against Sidhak Kaur to finish second. —TNS
