The BJP is in a fix over selecting its poll coordinators for Meham and Garhi Sampla-Kiloi, Assembly segments in the Rohtak parliamentary constituency.
The party had appointed its coordinators for seven other Assembly segments in Rohtak constituency five days ago.
It remained indecisive about the two segments due to a tussle between its leaders in Meham and annoyance of its leader in Garhi Sampla-Kiloi.
Party MLAs Om Prakash Dhankar (Badli), Manish Grover (Rohtak), Naresh Kaushik (Bahadurgarh) and Vikram Yadav (Kosli) had been made coordinators in their Assembly segments.
Vikram Kadian, Ram Avtar Balmiki and Bijender Dalal had been appointed coordinators in Beri, Kalanaur and Jhajjar, respectively. Six of them had contested the 2014 Assembly poll on the BJP ticket.
“The party wants to appoint Dharambir Hooda as coordinator for Garhi Sampla-Kiloi. He has been sulking after being denied the party ticket. He is keeping a distance from party affairs after selection of Arvind Sharma as party candidate,” said a BJP leader.
Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had defeated Dharambir Hooda from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi in the 2014 Assembly poll.
The party leader said a tussle between Shamsher Kharkara and Zila Parishad chairman Balraj Kundu in Meham had left the party high and dry.
Both leaders were gearing up for contesting the next Assembly poll from Meham. Kharkara had contested the poll on party symbol in 2014 and lost.
Sources said the party had not organised any poll meeting in Garhi Sampla-Kiloi so far due to delay in selection of coordinator.
“Meham and Garhi Sampla-Kiloi are prominent segments. Congress nominee Deepender Singh Hooda had taken a massive lead from these segments in 2014,” said the BJP leader.
“This time, the BJP wants to concentrate on these segments to improve its performance. The delay has been adversely affecting our poll prospects,” admitted the party leader.
Arvind Yadav, BJP incharge for the Rohtak parliamentary constituency, claimed that the party was in the process of appointing poll coordinators for Meham and Garhi Sampla-Kiloi.
Denying any infighting between BJP leaders, he asserted these appointments would be made within a day or two.
