‘Virat Sandesh’ released

DASUYA (HOSHIARPUR): College magazine ‘Virat Sandesh’ and annual report of the JCDAV College, Dasuya, was released during the 45th Annual Convocation and 26th Prize Distribution function held on the college campus. Satish Kumar Sharma, Director Colleges, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, was the chief guest for the occasion. JCDAV College principal Amardeep Gupta, formally welcomed the chief guest and read the annual report. The college magazine was released by the chief guest. Later, degrees were conferred upon the post-graduates and graduates of science, commerce and arts streams. Sharma stressed on the need of practical degrees in humanity and behaviour along with the professional ones. 

Students get jobs 

As many as 50 students of Mehr Chand Polytechnic College have been selected for appointment by various renowned companies. Principal Jagroop Singh said seven students of the pharmacy department had been selected by TROIKK Cardiac Care Ltd on an annual package of Rs 2 lakh each, six students of computer science had been selected by Solitaire Infosys Pvt Ltd and Seven Services Pvt Ltd on annual package of Rs 1.5 lakh to 1.8 lakh, four students of mechanical engineering (morning shift) had been given jobs by EMRILL (Dubai) and John Deere on an annual package from Rs 1.5 kah to Rs 2.8 lakh, seven students of electronics were selected by Dream Tech Labs on annual package of Rs 1.5 lakh and 11 students of automobile and mechanical engineering (evening shift) were selected by JTEKT India Ltd on an annual package of Rs 2 lakh. Also, 11 students of civil, mechanical and automobile engineering have been selected by construction company L&T on an annual package from Rs 3.5 kah to Rs 4 lakh. The principal congratulated the placement department and honoured the selected students.
