The Election Department on Sunday dispatched postal ballot papers to 2,924 voters — from all five Assembly constituencies of the district — serving in military and paramilitary forces.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Vinod Kumar said the postal ballot papers along with return envelopes had been dispatched to the commanding officers concerned through 391 record offices.
The Nalagarh constituency had the maximum service electorate (955) while Doon had the lowest (380).
The service voters would have to name the candidate of their choice on the postal ballot paper and send it back to the ARO concerned in sealed envelopes.
Vinod Kumar said 3,83,070 voters would exercise their franchise in the district. As many as 557 polling stations had been established with the maximum in the Arki segment (131) . Paramilitary personnel would be deployed at sensitive polling stations.
