Chandigarh, April 21

Denying that he has being soft on Badals and asserting that he will not spare anyone found guilty, as per law, of any crime against the people of the state, Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh accused the BJP for trying to destroy the country’s unique strength of diversity with their divisive politics.

Capt Amarinder Singh was replying to questions received on twitter under a new initiative # CaptainDiChaupal, organised in association with @TwitterIndia at Chuahr Majra village in Kharar near here. On the occasion, the CM also interacted with people.

The Chief Minister expressed his anger at the remarks of BJPleader Sadhvi Pragya against a distinguished police officer like Hemant Karkare.

Asked if he would contest again in 2022, the Chief Minister said he hoped the ideal Punjab would have become a reality by the time his current term ends and he would be able to hand the reins to the young generation, unless the state still needs him in three years.

He agreed with a young university student who lamented the spread of drugs and the fact that youth were going abroad for jobs, and said his government was committed to generating jobs.

“As industry comes, things will improve,” he said, claiming that in a sharp contrast to the SAD-BJP government’s Rs 25,000-crore investment in 10 years, his government had in just two years succeeded in bringing Rs 65,000-crore worth of projects, of which 75 per cent had already been realised on the ground.
