163 inducted as constables

HOSHIARPUR: The ‘Dikshant Parade’’ (Passing-Out Parade) of batch No 249 of basic recruit constables, comprising 163 recruits took place at the parade ground of Subsidiary Training Centre of the Border Security Force (BSF) at the Kharkan Camp on the Hoshiarpur-Una road, 14 km from district headquarters.

The ‘Dikshant Parade’’ (Passing-Out Parade) of batch No 249 of basic recruit constables, comprising 163 recruits took place at the parade ground of Subsidiary Training Centre of the Border Security Force (BSF) at the Kharkan Camp on the Hoshiarpur-Una road, 14 km from district headquarters.

The passing-out constables took an oath to serve the nation with dedication. Mahipal Yadav, IPS, IG Frontier HQ, Jalandhar, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Officiating Commandant Kamal Bhagat, 2IC STC BSF Kharkan Camp welcomed him.

The batch has representation from major states— Assam (4), Manipur (1), Bihar(12), Gujrat (1), Haryana (3), Himachal Pradesh(1), Jammu and Kashmir (5), Karnataka (54), Kerala (3), Madhya Pradesh(1), Maharastra (3), Punjab (1), Rajasthan (31), Tamilnadu (1), Tripura (1), Uttar Pradesh (18), West Bengal (9), Uttarakhand (3), Andhra Pradesh (1), Chattishgarh(1) and Jharkhand (9).

Officiating Commandant Kamal Bhagat told that the recruits have undergone 44 weeks of Basic Recruits’ Training.

The training not only include subjects on weapon handling tactics, drill, border surveillance, disaster management, first aid, searching and frisking, combat training but also human rights, gender sensitivity and sports to make them fit to face any type of condition efficiently.

The parade was nurtured by 2IC (Trg) Vikas Sundriyal, Deputy Commandant, Rahul Singh.
