The two-week workshop on developing e-content, under Centre of Pre-Service Teacher Education, School of Education, GNDU, entered second day on Saturday.

The workshop is focused on developing e-content by educators to help students learn better in the digital world. There are 36 participants from various universities and colleges of north India. The second day saw educators being told about creation of digital content keeping in mind the needs of the students, recording video, writing script, editing them.

Talking about the workshop, Prof Amit Kauts, project coordinator, School of Education, said, “Its objective is to promote good education through good teachers (Achhi shiksha-Achhe shikshak).”

The workshop was inaugurated on Friday. In the Inaugural session, Prof Amarendra Behera, joint director, CIET, NCERT, emphasised that the main purpose of developing e-content was to bring quality in higher education and also bring employability, which is a big challenge in India. He also highlighted importance of e-content for learners with special needs.

Prof SS Behl, Dean Academic Affairs, GNDU, in his inaugural address, stressed that e-content was the valuable resource for development of information rich society.
