GND varsity’s master’s course in education

The School of Education, Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), will start a master’s course in education (educational management and leadership) from the upcoming session (2019-2020).

The centre is funded under Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) scheme. The master’s degree aims at developing professional leadership skills among teachers to run academic institutions effectiveness with specific target-oriented goals. The course will focus on developing educational leadership among existing working teaching faculty from common wealth countries. The two-year course has 10 seats.

Prof Amit Kauts, project coordinator, School of Education, and head of the Department of Education of the university, said the degree aimed at making educators armed with skills and insight for team work, cooperation, problem solving, instructional management strategies, decision making, financial procedures, strategic planning, leadership skills and work culture to develop an ethical and learning environment. — TNS
