Montessori students of Ryan International School, Chandigarh, celebrated World Heritage Day. An exhibition was organised wherein the Montessori wing were shown models of various monuments. The day concluded with a song where the students enjoyed listening to an old Hindi number, ‘Aao Baccho tumhein dikhayein’. 

Ashiana Public, Chandigarh

 Students from Class I to IX participated in a programme organised by the Green Olympiad Foundation for three subjects - mathematics, science and English - and brought laurels to the school. Sameer Kansal of Class II is the first runner-up in the north region of STEP-UP English Olympiad and was awarded Rs 2,000, along with a gold medal and a certificate. 

St Xavier’s, Mohali

A special assembly was conducted by St Xavier’s High School, Mohali, to mark World Heritage Day. A quiz based on 36 Indian heritage sites was conducted. 

Delhi Public, Chandigarh 

NTSE stage I result for Chandigarh was declared on Friday. Saksham Gupta, a student of Class X of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, secured the second rank. He scored a total of 187 marks. The exam was conducted in November last year across all the states/UTs of the country. 

Shemrock, Mohali

Shemrock Senior Secondary School, Sector 69, organised a ceremony on its campus to celebrate the achievements of its students. Students were honoured with trophies and certificates by Principal Parneet Sohal. As many as 51 students received award for 100 per cent attendance, 36 students from Class VI to XII received awards for excellence in academics.

St Joseph’s, Chandigarh

The legal literacy club of St Joseph’s School, Sector 44-D, invited Ishmeet Singh, advocate at State Legal Services Authority, for an interactive session. He spoke on relevant issues such as legal rights, child rights and legal services for the students.  

YPS, Mohali

Yadavindra Public School, Mohali, bade adieu to its two teachers — Navjot Gujral and Seyiekhriemyu Usou. While Gujral will be missed for her teaching of the fundamentals of English to at least two generations of learners in her 36-year career, Usou will be remembered for the impeccable way in which he orchestrated all music performances at the school for over a decade. 

Sacred Souls’, Gharuan

Sacred Souls’ School inaugurated cricket pitch, constructed in accordance with international standards, on its premises. Rahul Johri, BCCI official, visited the school to inaugurate the 60-m pitch. He was escorted by the NCC cadets and received warmly by the school management. The pitch is a major feat for the school which has a well-equipped sports complex.
