Mohali, April 20

The migrant whose body was found at Papri village, here, on Friday, was not murdered, claimed the police.

The victim, identified as Subhash Chand Chauhan, a resident of Durjanpur village, Gonda district in Uttar Pradesh, had either consumed some poisonous substance or was bitten by some reptile which proved fatal, claimed police today.

“The body of the victim had turned black when it was taken to the hospital. No foul play has come to light in postmortem of the body,” said the police adding that the injury marks, which were found on the body, were because of his falling down.

Subhash Chand was currently residing in a rented accommodation at Chachu Majra village. Earlier, the police was suspecting that he was murdered and his body was thrown at a deserted place at Papri village on Friday. The body was spotted by a local resident Rajpal when he went to dump garbage near the spot.
