Woman dies in road accident

A woman, identified as Babli resident of Bir Ghaggar village in the district, died after being hit by a rashly driven motorcycle near the toll tax barrier on the Panchkula-Chandimandir road on Friday. 

Parveen, victim’s sister-in-law, in her complaint to the police said she along with Babli had gone to PNB branch in Sector 6 to enquire about the pension of her deceased husband Raju. While returning back, she took a three wheeler near tank chowk located near Western Command.

She said after alighting from the three-wheeler, they were trying to cross the road when a rashly-driven motorcycle bearing the registration number of Delhi hit her and she fell down. 

The motorcyclist has been identified as Dimple, a resident of Noida in Uttar Pradesh. She said a car owner took both the injured to the Sector 6 Civil Hospital, where Babli succumbed to her injuries during treatment. 

The Chandimandir police station has registered the case against Dimple under section 279, 304A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). 

Further investigations in the case are underway. The body of the victim has been handed over to the family members after the post mortem.
