SIT to probe woman’s death in police raid

MORINDA: Ropar SSP Swapan Sharma has formed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the death of a 50-year-old woman, who died after a raid by a police party at her home yesterday.

Ropar SSP Swapan Sharma has formed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the death of a 50-year-old woman, who died after a raid by a police party at her home yesterday. Sharma said two SPs and a Sub-Inspector would conduct the inquiry into the incident and submit the report within a week.

Her husband Maha Singh had alleged that a police party had roughed up his wife when it came to raid their house to nab one of his sons, who was wanted in a case. — TNS
