A social activist has demanded from the Election Commission to transfer MC’s Zonal Commissioner (Zone C).
Rashpal Singh Gabria has alleged that the officer is a close friend of a Cabinet Minister, who belongs to Ludhiana.
“As I have filed a complaint, Zonal Commissioner Jasdev Singh Sekhon is planning a conspiracy against me under the power of ruling government and exerting unnecessary pressure through politicians. I request the Election Commission to transfer him to the outskirts of the city to save me from threats. I am a social activist working for the welfare of the people and raising issues against corruption. Some employees told me that I was not allowed to visit MC’s Zone C office,” he alleged.
Gabria said the Zonal Commissioner should be transferred at the earliest for fair and independent elections.
Zonal Commissioner Jasdev Singh Sekhon said, “I have not threatened Rashpal Singh Gabria. I have never met him or talked to him over the phone. He is a blackmailer and threatens MC employees after obtaining information under the RTI Act. Now, he is levelling false allegations against me. How can anyone level allegations without any evidence?”
“It is a fact that I am friend of the Cabinet Minister. But, the minister is not contesting this election. When he contested the Vidhan Sabha elections, I was in the city but no political party had complained against me,” he said.
