Jammu, April 19

A day after the Centre suspended the cross-LoC trade along both routes in the state, the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) on Friday demanded a probe to fix the responsibility for the administrative lapses into the security breach, while requesting trade resumption.

In a communication sent to the Director, Department of J&K Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, JCCI president Rakesh Gupta expressed resentment over the sudden suspension of the cross-LoC trade.

“...the suspension of the LoC trade at Salamabad and Chakan da Bagh in J&K has been communicated stating security concerns and misuse of the routes by Pakistan-based elements.

“We fully agree that security should be the prime concern but stopping the LoC trade abruptly without poses a huge risk of financial loss,” Gupta said. — TNS
