MOHALI:A migrant was found murdered at Papri village here today.

Mohali, April 19

A migrant was found murdered at Papri village here today. The victim has been identified as Subhash Chand Chauhan, a resident of Durjanpur village, Gonda district in Uttar Pradesh. The victim was currently residing in a rented accommodation at village Chachu Majra.

The police found the victim’s roommate, Suresh, missing from their accommodation. A Mohali police official said during preliminary investigations, it has come out that Subhash and Suresh left their accommodation together in the morning.

“Later Subhash’s body bearing injury marks was found lying at a deserted place at Papri village in the afternoon. The body was spotted by a local resident, Rajpal, when he went to dump garbage near the spot. Hunt is on for Suresh to get clues,” said the police official.

According to the police, there were injury marks on the victim’s head and other parts of the body. A case under Section 302 of the IPC has been registered. “Further investigations are on,” said the police. — TNS
