Young shuttlers get lessons in nutrition, injury prevention

Over 80 budding shuttlers participated in the week-long workshop on Sports Psychology, Nutrition and Injury Prevention, which concluded at the Sector 38 (West) Sports Complex here on Friday.

The workshop was organised by the Chandigarh Badminton Association (CBA) in collaboration with the UT Sports Department.

The workshop was conducted by Dr Rashi Sharma, who specialises in musculoskeletal physical therapy.

During the course of the workshop, participants got lessons in how to improve their performance and combat tournament fear. They were also made aware about different techniques of injury prevention.

The parents of the young trainees also attended a session on sports nutrition during which they were made aware about the role of balanced and appropriate diet. 

“During the workshop we tried to teach these kids about the basics of musculoskeletal physical techniques, which would be beneficial to them in the long run,” said Dr Rashi.
