Abohar, Jalalabad to get ‘Saadi rasoi’

FAZILKA: After running the “Saadi rasoi” project successfully for two years in Fazilka town, the district administration has decided to open “Saadi rasoi” to provide food at subsidised rates in Abohar and Jalalabad towns too.

After running the “Saadi rasoi” project successfully for two years in Fazilka town, the district administration has decided to open “Saadi rasoi” to provide food at subsidised rates in Abohar and Jalalabad towns too.

“We have worked out all modality and the project will be launched soon in subdivisions of the town to provide a full meal at Rs 10 only,” said Fazilka Deputy Commissioner Manpreet Singh while presiding over the programme on the second anniversary of the project here.

The District Red Cross Society was the first in Punjab to open the project in Fazilka on April 15, 2017.

“Saadi rasoi” has offered food to about 2.34 lakh people so far in Fazilka in two years,” said the DC. He expressed his gratitude to social organisations and philanthropists of the town who had been benevolently contributing toward the project.

Advocate Baldev Dhuria and NGO Social Welfare Society president Shashi Kant announced to contribute Rs 10,000 per year.
