The eighth edition of Kasauli Rhythm and Blue Festival began here on Friday.

A vivacious performance by young Shubhangi Joshi’s Collective held the audience spellbound. Lyrics penned by her portraying different phases of her life were liked by one and all.

‘Maatibani’ was another attraction of the evening, which was a scintillating fusion of folk and contemporary. The collaborative dual of Nirali Kartik and Kartik Shahi enthralled the audience as lyrics ranging from versus of Kabir, Bulleh Shah, Mirabai were much appreciated. Their expressive presentation received much applause from the audience and it provided the perfect appetite to the music buffs who had come from as far as Delhi.

The ‘But It Rained’ fame – Parikrama act — further elevated the enthusiasm as an eight-member rock band was one of the main attractions of the event. Apart from a tempting musical line-up, the festival also offered a surprise flash mob for the audience inciting them to shake a leg.

Prema Sagar, Founder Trustee, Genesis Foundation, said, “At Genesis Foundation, we truly believe that music has the power to unite people across the world. With this as our driving force, we are elated to see Kasauli Rhythm and Blues Festival concluding its 8th edition and bringing our audience together for the cause of saving little hearts while relishing music in the scenic beauty of Kasauli. We were able to save 25 children through funds raised from the last year’s edition. We are hoping to save many more this year with the help of our supporters and all bands”.
