The Delhi Capitals' next match against Mumbai Indians in New Delhi gave the young opener Prithvi Shaw a great chance to spend some quality time with his idol Sachin Tendulkar.

The two Mumbai cricketers met over dinner in a hotel in New Delhi on Wednesday night.

Shaw tweeted a picture with Tendulkar and wrote: “Thank you SACHIN SIR for the lovely dinner. It's always a pleasure meeting you SIR @sachin_rt Sir”.

Prithvi, who made his debut in the cricket world with the Test series against the West Indies last year, has often been compared to Sachin because of his flawless batting style and technique.

Shaw is gearing up to take on Mumbai Indians at the Feroz Shah Kotla on Thursday. Tendulkar is the batting mentor of Mumbai Indians.

Shaw has had a roller-coaster IPL season so far for Delhi Capitals, scoring 187 runs in 8 matches at an average of 23.37 with 99 against the Kolkata Knight Riders being his highest score till now.

The Capitals, though, have won their last three games—against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
