Ludhiana, April 17

The vice-president of the Aam Aadmi Party’s state transport wing, Jaspal Talwandi, has resigned from the party. He sent his resignation to the party’s Punjab chief Bhagwant Mann.

He said, “Allegations are being levelled against party leaders for selling tickets for the Lok Sabha elections. Old volunteers are being ignored by the party leaders. The ticket for the Fatehgarh Sahib Lok Sabha constituency has been given to the wife of a Congress leader after ignoring an old volunteer. Old leaders were also ignored for the Ludhiana parliamentary seat. The party has given the ticket for Ludhiana seat to a person from the Raikot Vidhan Sabha Assembly segment.”

“AAP MLAs are running the party like their private firm. Party leaders have failed to follow the party’s actual ideology. Allegations are being levelled against party leaders for demanding money from ticket aspirants. I am very disappointed with the party leaders,” he said. — TNS
