Captain Sukhjit Singh Hara, a close associate of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, along with Zila Parishad members and councillors of Ludhiana, met the Chief Minister at Congress Bhawan yesterday.

They apprised the Chief Minister of various problems in the constituency in general and Sahnewal town in particular.

The leaders specifically discussed about the need for bringing in industrial focal point in order to create job opportunities for youngsters, thus reducing the trend of permanent exodus to foreign lands.

They also discussed about the political scenario and the need to address the grievances of the local leaders in order to be unified and gain a definite win.

“The local problems of the people of Sahnewal constituency need to be redressed immediately so that the party may come out with a strong base and the incumbency move, if any, may be nipped in the bud,” expressed Hara.

Hara, along with councillors Pal Singh, Lalli Grewal, Happy Mundian and Zila Parishad members Ravnit Gill, Nachattar Dholanwal and Balwinder Singh, talked about the problem of drugs and corruption in their constituency.

They told the Chief Minister that since there were a number of bastis in their constituency, the trend towards drugs was all the more prevalent.

The local leaders assured that if given assistance by the Chief Minister as well as proper coordination was maintained with the police and public, they would be able to check the problem of drug addiction.

Hara said the Chief Minister lent a patient hearing to all their problems and assured that he would take interest in solving them on priority basis.
