A CRPF man was injured in a grenade blast on Wednesday in the Tral area of Pulwama district after militants targeted a camp of the paramilitary force.

The injured man has been identified as Constable Prashant. “He has suffered minor splinter injuries and has been given first aid,” a police officer said. The incident took place at 7.20 pm in the Nowdal area of Tral.

“The militants attacked the 180 Battalion of the CRPF using an under-barrel grenade launcher (UBGL). The grenade exploded causing minor injuries to one of the CRPF personnel,” the police officer said.

The area was cordoned off and searches were carried out to nab the attackers. — OC
