Jalandhar, April 17
The Health Department launched a drive against spurious milk and its products in Kapurthala on Wednesday. Starting at 6.30 am, A naka was set up on GT Road at Dhilwan and vehicles carrying food commodities were checked. Samples of milk and milk products were collected.
A team of the Health Department collected samples of milk, paneer, masala, pulses, packaged drinking water and edible salt.
A team of Food Administration Kapurthala, headed by Dr Harjot Pal Singh, Assistant Commissioner, Food, along with Satnam Singh, Food Safety Officer, said the samples had been sent to the State Food Laboratory, Kharar and the analysis report would be provided to the department soon .
They said further action would be initiated in the court of law against the offenders after receiving the report. — TNS
